Job Description

HII is partnering in a critical training initiative within the United States Space Force (USSF) aimed at preparing space units for advanced tactical operations within a contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environment. This exercise represents a major milestone in the evolution of space as a distinct warfighting domain, reflecting a shift toward recognizing the strategic importance of space for national defense and international security. We are looking for a Sr. Operations Research Analyst to serve as the Lead Analyst to create and conduct studies and analyses relevant to space superiority and multi-domain operations; you will oversee the development of tactics, techniques, and procedures to advance the creation of tools supporting Space Domain Awareness and Space Control Analytics and a pply emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities, to system design and development

This work is a blend of Ops Research analysis and Military Ops Research analysis activities. The focus of this work is assessing problems and solutions in space and multi-domain operations and to lead team to frame problems and perform analysis in advanced simulation environments such as AFSIM While this position is at Kirtland AFB, NM, the Analyst may have to travel to support specific program events or activities

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • assessing the space enterprise’s effectiveness against threats, identifying capability gaps, recommending and assessing mitigation activities

  • assessing the impact of doctrine, new technologies and or new CONOPS on the effectiveness of the space enterprise,

  • analyzes and provides recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Rules of Engagement, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises;

  • coordinates with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives;

  • Analyzes the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to main the capabilities of a force;

  • compares, analyzes and evaluates the relative merits of program designs and alternatives;

  • applies emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities, to system design and development;

  • assesses the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine; and

  • prepares reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.

Minimum Qualifications

9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

Extensive knowledge of US DoD and IC space enterprise

•Experience in analyzing DoD space enterprise and control operations

•Experience using statistical analysis tools that enable identification of key parameters, and key values of key parameters (e.g., R, Dakota, Galaxy)

•Knowledge of multi-domain operations analysis

•Competent in Python and statistical tools

•Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
