Position Specifics:

To qualify for this position the selected candidate must have the following:

• Demonstrated leadership experience

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with various management levels to ensure project success

• Prior experience with NNS Integrated Digital Shipbuilding (iDS) and Digital Lifecycle Sustainment (DLS) of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) systems and products

• Prior knowledge and experience of submarine and carrier maintenance processes

• Direct experience with process mapping techniques such as Swim Lanes and Flow Charts

• Proficiency in MS Visio, Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Excellent communication and problem solving skills

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provides direct support to the Special Projects Manager ensuring assigned projects are successful

• Serves as liaison between FSG Special Project Management and NNS

• Leads the ILS Digital Sustainment task as part of the NNS DLS initiative

• Collaborates with Fleet Support Group (FSG) iDS related personnel to familiarize and prepare FSG for the FORD Class Digital transformation

• Facilitates iDS and DLS familiarization specific events for FSG staff

• Reviews status of assigned projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports as assigned

• Establishes and maintains performance metrics to measure program success.

• Defines, designs and implements continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across organization

• Six-Sigma certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.

10 Years relevant experience with Bachelors; 8 Years relevant experience with Masters; An additional 4 years of specific job experience with a HS diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this job. Example: If this job required a Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience the equivalency would equal HS diploma + 9 years job related experience.
