UniversalPegasus International is seeking a Senior Designer I (Civil/Structural) . In this role you will be responsible for developing initial layouts, overseeing revisions of existing computer aided design files, providing technical assistance to the project team, and creating and manipulating drawings from conceptual markups or verbal instructions to the Company’s or Client’s requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently create or modify detailed drawings in accordance with the design or markups.

  • Prepare drawing and standards files in accordance with Company and Client standards.

  • Conduct preliminary QA/QC and checking.

  • Responsible for continuity between conceptual designs and detail designs.

  • Assist in development of design criteria.

  • Coordinate design with other disciplines.

  • Perform tasks under minimal supervision.

  • May have some client interface in regards to providing or acquiring information.

  • Responsible for following corporate safety protocols.

  • Apply basic engineering calculations to support design packages.

  • Responsible for the technical content and quality of the work, and adherence to schedule required for the assigned task or project.

  • Demonstrate an advanced ability to create and manipulate drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with computers and CAD software packages in standalone configurations as well as network setups.

  • Ability to understand, communicate and apply engineering concepts.

  • Ability to identify impact of changes on other disciplines and communicates changes to other disciplines.

  • Capable of modeling in a 3D environment.

  • Ability to develop efficient discipline specific layout of equipment.

  • Ability to research manufacturer technical data and be able to communicate with manufacturers, clients and other engineers as necessary to complete the assigned design task.

  • Willingness and ability to learn new techniques and software.

  • Able to organize and prioritize project work load for self and others.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Some college or formal related technical courses preferred.

  • 3 to 5 years of drafting related experience.

  • 3 to 6 plus years of design related experience.

  • AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and CADWorx experience required.

  • MicroStation experience a plus.

  • AutoLISP or Visual Basic programming experience a plus.

  • Microsoft Office experience preferred.
