The Role
The E44 Networks, Communications, and Automation software engineering organization is seeking a skilled, motivated software engineer for placement within its embedded controls and graphical user interface team. As an E44 software engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle from requirements to verification and validation. As a member of the software group you will apply your programming/coding skills, architectural knowledge, and leadership toward the development, deployment, and maintenance of software associated with customized operating systems, operator control stations, and hardware and control system interfaces.
Typical software engineering activities:
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience or
Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience or
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
Nice to Have
Experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages, such as Java
Experience with commercial configuration and change management tools and processes
Experience with Linux operating systems, preferred.
Previous experience with hardware and software integration, preferred.
Experience with network communication protocols ( TCP/IP, Multicast) and networking tools (Wireshark), preferred.
Experience with database design and integration, preferred.
