Job Description

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • Under limited review, compiles and analyzes financial information.

  • Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports and presentations.

  • Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.

  • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management.

  • Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.

  • May lead and develop projects.

  • Trains and mentors more junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive experience in cost analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, and scenario planning.

  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Cost Accounting Standards and their application in contracts for both the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Energy.

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as applicable to financial statement analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, and expense analysis. Experience with accounting for joint ventures a plus.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Skill and ability to perform highly complex and critical professional tasks and to solve complex problems with limited direct oversight.

  • Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity, with considerable latitude for independent judgment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at the highest levels.

  • Ability to develop and lead projects, including defining scope, objectives and methods

  • Can be viewed as a capable independent contributor and as competent within the broad discipline.

  • Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% (this may change depending on the job)

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent preferred, and at least 6 years of relevant work experience (or 4 years with Master’s degree)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The noise level may be loud due to equipment and machinery in use. 90% of these tasks will be working in an office environment, but also may include work in/on ship environment and at a computer work station on board ship.

The employee may exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and climb ladders and stairways, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
