External Job Description:
Conducts financial and operational audits by examining and verifying accounting, statistical, or operational records and/or procedures of internal and/or external organizations to determine the reliability and effectiveness of financial and control systems, material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures. Examines records to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws, agreements, and policies. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management. Includes auditing activities under Sarbanes-Oxley. Support NNS division in evaluating and recommending improvements to business practices, processes and control procedures.
Position will primarily be responsible for auditing of Newport News Shipbuilding, and will be resident at NNS. Position reports directly to corporate Internal Audit Director for Shipbuilding.

Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience. Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience.
