Job Description

HII Mission Technologies Newport News Direct support is seeking candidates to join our SUBSAFE Re-Entry Control team (OO4) at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News Virginia. The selected candidate will support all aspects of SUBSAFE Re-Entry Control Reviews for submission to the customer providing technical support for shipboard / shop trades in a waterfront environment for Submarine Fleet Support Overhaul.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Develops and implements program quality plans and procedures. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies and data related to production. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions, process optimization and modifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 12 years relevant experience with Associates; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.

  • A NNS Apprentice School Degree/Certificate is equivalent to an Associate’s degree for this position.

  • Must have a current or active DoD secret clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Requirements

  • SUBSAFE Re-entry Control work documentation background

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to follow procedures word-for-word

  • Able to evaluate documents for accuracy with a high attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Possible exposure to fumes and irritants normally encountered in an industrial or shipboard environment. May involve gathering of data while observing machinery or equipment operations.
