Job Description

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Basic Qualifications

0 Years with Bachelors in Science- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

The Undersea Systems group is responsible for concept design, development and execution of programs and projects to integrate advanced systems and payloads on submarines and other platforms.

The candidate will participate in the development and integration of advanced electrical systems related to maritime applications including submarine systems and sub-sea warfare systems.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn about a variety of submarine electrical systems including Sonar and Electronics Warfare systems.

The candidate will develop experience with the construction and modernization of SSNs. Including familiarity with submarine specific requirements and with the processes for submarine modernization.

The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to work with both government and industry teams to achieve project objectives.
