External Job Description:
This position proactively supports the US Navy COMNAVAIRLANT Habitability Program, Enhanced Quality Of Life (EQOL) Project, for shipboard food service, galley, and laundry equipment by providing technical, material, maintenance, and training assistance.
To qualify for this position candidate must:
Obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification System DBIDS) ID card, CAC card and Secret Security Clearance.
Be able to pass a DOT physical and qualify for a company issued forklift operator license.
Have previous experience with warehouse material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, pallet wrappers and stacker systems or equivalents.
Be proficient with word processing, data entry, and email.
Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.
Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
