Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer in our Syracuse, NY location to help support the C5ISR Systems operation. What You Will Do

  • Performs reliability, maintainability, supportability, and system safety analyses for components, assemblies, subsystems, and systems across mechanical, electrical, and software devices.

  • Performs analyses across all phases of system life cycle to include: concept, design, development, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Applies design for reliability, maintainability, supportability, and system safety principles.

  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total life cycle systems management solutions that balance technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Collaborates with colleagues to perform allocation; prediction; block diagrams and modeling; Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS); Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Fault Tree Analysis (FTA); R&M tests and demonstration; reliability growth planning; Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA); Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA); Level of Repair Analysis (LORA); sparing analysis; hazard analysis; system safety planning; and associated trade studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Participate in engineering meetings and program reviews to advocate for RMQSI and/or system safety in engineering trade-off process.

  • Offer working familiarity with applicable DoD and commercial standards, policies, and guides related to development and lifecycle support programs, RMQSI, and system safety.

What We Are Looking For

  • 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field; 1 years of relevant experience with Masters in STEM field; 0 years of experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in STEM field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Possession of strong initiative and interpersonal skills, including writing detailed reports and effectively preparing and giving presentations.

  • Must be able to work both independently and with a team to execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment

Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Familiar with:

  • DoD acquisition, policies, guides, etc.

  • Use of common reliability software, such as ReliaSoft, Relex/PTC Windchill, Isograph, and Relyence.

  • Model-Based Engineering and development of digital twins to perform M&S of RMQSI and system safety capabilities.
